2.Temple Management and Ceremony Authority Requirement

Disciples at Level 6 and above are eligible for temple affairs management; Disciples at Level 7 and above may independently preside over ceremonies.

Mandatory Assistant Certification Requirement

To be appointed as a Level 6 Hall Master (Mo Xing) or Level 7+ Incantation Master (Kou Yun), the disciple must have at least two full years (24 cumulative months) of formal assistant experience under a current Hall Master or Incantation Master, then obtain official certification.

 Specific Requirements:

  • Before promotion, serve as an assistant for no less than 24 months under guidance and receive formal certification.
  • Main duties during assistant period:
  • Assist in temple management and Daoist venue operations
  • Participate in ceremony assistance, talisman application, and preaching
  • Handle Four Pillar service recording, form emulation practice, and devotee services
  • Complete various cultivation tasks assigned by the master
  • Certification Process:

  • Total service time ≥ 800 hours. Average devotee satisfaction score ≥ 85 points
  • Upon completion, Supervisor issues Assistant Completion Evaluation Letter
  • Those who have not completed the two-year assistant requirement cannot be directly appointed even if academic and examination scores are met. They may at most be appointed as Acting Hall Master or Assistant Incantation Master, then will be formally appointed only after completing the required experience.
  • Special Circumstances: For disciples with exceptional aptitude or outstanding contributions, the term may be shortened to 1.5 years upon review and approval by the Daoist Elders Joint Meeting. This requires sufficient written documentation and public notice with no objections.

3.Promotion Methods (Four Pathways)

      (1) Direct Examination by Master (most common and direct)

      (2) Temple-wide Daoist Examination (collective assessment)
